Recruitment support

Whether you've applied for a role or you're still thinking about doing so, we're here to help

Support and adjustments

We're serious about equity for all and as such, we're committed to a fair and inclusive recruitment journey. Learning from our colleagues we've developed a recruitment journey to help you be at your best, every step of the way.

We'll ask you about any support or adjustments you may need during your application and if we invite you to interview. You won't always have to share your circumstances to qualify.

If you're successful, we'll make sure this support follows you into your new role with the Society.

What we offer

Here are some of the ways we can help you from the start of your journey.

  • A step free or accessible room
  • Interviewing at a particular time of day (morning or afternoon preference)
  • More time between questions during the interview or a longer break inbetween assessments/interviews
  • An interview room in a quieter part of the building
  • Accessible formatting of written documents
  • Presenting in an alternative format
  • A virtual interview rather than in person or vice versa.

We're proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer

We’re proud to offer an interview or assessment to every disabled applicant who meet the minimum criteria for our vacancies. As part of the application process, disabled applicants can opt in for the Disability Confident Interview Scheme. If there are ever occasions where it is not practicable to interview all candidates that meet the minimum criteria, such as when we receive a high number of applications, we commit to interviewing disabled candidates who best meet the minimum criteria.
