What we offer

Take a quick look at the benefits of joining us

What we offer: the basics

Pay

We’re serious about fairness. That means competitive salaries, with an annual review, but also a discretionary bonus scheme, that rewards everyone with an equal percentage of their pay when the Society performs well.

Pensions and Life Assurance

Pay a minimum of 5% of your salary into our Group Personal Pension Scheme and we’ll match it, increasing our contributions in line with service, up to 10%. Tuck away more before then and we’ll keep matching it to the same limit. You’ll also be covered by Life Assurance of six times your basic salary.

Holidays

Wellbeing matters, so while we value hard work, time away is just as important. There’s a minimum of 25 days’ holiday (plus Bank Holidays) with the option to buy up to 10 more days or sell up to five. Reach ten years’ service and you’ll get an extra week’s leave as a one-off gift.

What we offer: the extras

The career you want

Everyone is given the opportunity to reach their potential and create the best future for themselves. Our range of career programmes put the support in place to help you grow into your role and realise your ambitions.

Always flexible

Around 75% of our roles are hybrid, split between the office and home. Others will need you to be in the office or a branch during your working hours.

We’ll always consider options like part time, job share or flexible working patterns. Ask before you apply to see what the possibilities are.

Wellbeing

We’ll give you access to multiple wellness platforms, with a digital GP and support with anything from the menopause to men’s health. And there’s lots of great classes and talks covering all aspects of your wellbeing to sign up to.

Family First

We offer an extensive range of family-friendly benefits, including:

  • Childcare support allowance
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity and shared parental leave
  • Pregnancy loss and fertility support
  • Paid leave through our Carers’ Flexibility scheme

Employee assistance

Our independent employee assistance programme can support you and your household with life’s challenges, providing services like professional counselling, as well as health risk and financial assessments.

Recognition matters

Pay a minimum of 5% of your salary into our Group Personal Pension Scheme and we’ll match it, increasing our contributions in line with service, up to 10%. Tuck away more before then and we’ll keep matching it to the same limit. You’ll also be covered by Life Assurance of six times your basic salary.
