About the role

Coventry Building Society have a new position within the Cyber team in CIDO, for an Associate Information & Cyber Security Consultant.

 This role will interest a motivated and detail-orientated Associate Level Cyber Security Consultant to support more Senior Consultants within the Cyber Security Practice as we expand our use of cloud technologies and take on digital transformation initiatives. This Junior role offers a dynamic opportunity to grow their expertise in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Working in a product-based agile model, the role will advise on the application of security controls and policies for business initiatives, addressing any risks and implementing new operational controls and processes where appropriate. This role is not solely about having the right security background, it requires to work collaboratively, and with pragmatism when supporting fast-paced delivery teams.

About you

We are looking for someone with an eagerness to learn and contribute to the secure delivery of our digital transformation journey, working with established cloud technologies.

To be successful in this role, it’s essential that you’re able to demonstrate

  • A comprehension of cloud security principles (AWS preferred but Azure is still favourable) and a strong interest in compliance, security standards, and privacy.
  • Knowledge of essential cybersecurity concepts including firewalls, DLP, endpoint protection, and risk management.
  • A basic understanding of the principles of DevOps and DevSecOps as they pertain to cloud security.
  • A passion for aiding in security architecture discussions and the integration and deployment of solutions.
  • An understanding of regulatory compliance such as GDPR, FCA, and anti-fraud measures.
  • Eager to assist in the process of risk assessment and security assurance reports for both technological and process-driven elements of the business.

Desirable skills for this role are:

  • Driven to seek and achieve recognized cybersecurity certifications.
  • Be proactive in developing communication and presentation skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and colleagues.
