Portfolio Lead (12-month FTC)

Coventry Building Society have an exciting new opportunity for a Portfolio Lead to join our CIDO department. This role requires you to work closely with Head of Portfolio to deliver diverse complex scope within Backoffice Technology Integration Workstream. Working on workstream that span 5 Delivery Trains delivering outcomes for Technology, Cyber Security, Finance, Treasury and HR functions, with multi-functional delivery teams and 3rd party suppliers at the core of the team dynamic.

Working to deliver by the end of 2026 with high focus on delivering efficiently and effectively, with project delivery discipline and control essential. The role holder will focus 'down and in' to the delivery teams to deliver outcomes consistently and on time/budget; and support Head of Portfolio/deputise 'up and out'. Building a strong relationship with the Integration Programme Office, Workstream Project Management Office and Delivery Train Leads is essential. Team first.

You take a coaching approach and empower others to make decisions that lead to great outcomes. As a seasoned Senior Programme Manager / Portfolio Lead, you’ll have experience of working in Financial Services and delivering Integration Programmes.

To be successful in this role, it’s essential that you’re able to demonstrate:

• Articulate with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of an organisation, with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
• Can-do, will-do attitude with high levels of resilience and a steely determination to succeed. 
• Comfortable to work with minimal instruction and able to negotiate to satisfy multiple stakeholders demands.
• Well versed in harmonising waterfall and scaled agile methodologies, with laser focus and demonstrable skills in planning, raids management and finances. 
• Experience of delivering programmes under regulatory scrutiny and being able to evidence control and provide assurance. Experience of working closely with 2nd and 3rd Line teams.

Desirable skills for this role are:

• Experience with Workday, M365, ServiceNow, Regulatory Reporting, Colleague End User Services, Business Change and user adoption, 3rd party negotiation and harmonising within delivery teams
