About The Role

The Property department is a vital part of the Society’s core operations and is made up of Accommodation & Facilities, Security, Estates, Health and Safety, Property Operations and Property Support. Collectively, the team is responsible for the overall Property strategy and for providing accommodation, physical security, environmental solutions, and facilities management, across the business. In addition the team are responsible for maintaining and developing the property real estate, through acquisition and disposals, lifecycle asset management, building refurbishments, repairs and maintenance.

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Facilities Officer to join our existing team to ensure optimum building performance, integrating people, place and process whilst improving the quality of life for our colleagues and the productivity of the core business.
In this role you’ll supervise a Facilities shift, being responsible for ensuring Service levels are monitored and reviewed to ensure operational obligations and KPIs are being achieved.  You’ll ensure delivery of an excellent level of operational support to all areas of the Society by working flexibly across campus as required.

You’ll prioritise tasks in an efficient and effective manner escalating any issues that may have a detrimental impact on the safety and security of the Society including the reporting of all incidents in a timely manner via a fault log system.

Supporting the Facilities Operations Manager, you’ll make sure all daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks are completed within timescales. Ensuring that all equipment and building facilities are maintained to safe guard the health and safety of all users and that business interruption is minimised. This will include, Fire safety inspections, legionella management, Pool car inspections and maintenance, UPS inspections and Generator testing, Building Management System monitoring and any other compliance checks required.

About You

We’re looking for someone with previous experience as a supervisor, ideally in a facilities role, preferably in multi-site operations in a medium to large public sector, retail or fast moving and/or financial services environment would be an advantage.

You’ll have experience of building facilities & an understanding of critical support systems is preferred. You’ll also have knowledge of general health and safety practice, risk assessment and fire prevention techniques.

You must be a driver and hold a full driving license and ideally you will currently hold or is working towards Institute of workplace Facilities Management accreditation or willing to do so and will also hold a relevant First Aid in the workplace certification or be prepared to undertake training.

You must be available (on-call) for out of hours support, on a rota basis. 

You will be a self-starter with the ability to problem solve using various strategies and skills and you’ll be comfortable building and maintaining relationships – it’s a role in which you need to be a great communicator and have the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

35 Hours M-F, 7 hours per day covering 3 shift patterns on a weekly rota basis.  7am-3pm, 9am-5pm, 11am-7pm (5% shift allowance)

Covering all Coventry HO sites.

Occasional weekend working as required – payable as overtime.

On call on a rota basis – usual Society on call payments applicable.
