Technical Analyst - Application Support

About The Role

Provides a level of technical knowledge to undertake the troubleshooting and resolution to production incidents or problems independently.  Completes tasks to agreed levels of quality, within stated timescales with no supervision.  Looks for improvement opportunities within the team and its processes/procedures.  An effective team member who provides support and guidance to peers and junior team members.  Contributes to team efficiency through the creation of accurate technical documentation.

About You

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Knowledge of systems management procedures in a large commercial, mission-critical environment.
    • Capacity planning, performance tuning, proactive monitoring of middleware solutions.
    • Change control, release procedures and tools.
    • ITIL based service management framework
    • Strong computer literacy
    • Experience of using the Microsoft Office products to create and manage documentation.
    • Proactive approach
    • Ability to work individually and within a team
    • Desire to developing and improving process
    • Willingness and aptitude for learn new systems and furthering knowledge

    Must be able to demonstrate knowledge in the areas below

    • IT Infrastructure skill set with Windows Server 2008R2, 2012 R2 &/or 2016
    • IIS
    • Standard Infrastructure operations technologies (e.g. AD, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
    • Knowledge of SQL Server database systems
    • Application Support Skills
    • VMware Virtualisation.
    • HP Server / Blade / Cluster Technology.

    DESIRABLE SKILLS

    • An appreciation of web services, XML standards
    • An appreciation of Windows based applications.
    • Powershell scripting
    • Branch Systems (Focus) support.

    OTHER SKILLS WHICH WILL BE REQUIRED BY THE ROLE

    • SQL Server Database (2005, 2008, 2012) installation & management
    • Exchange email services (2010).
    • IIS, COM, web browser, .net and associated Internet/Intranet technology.
    • SAN technology (NetApp) and utilities.
    • Citrix XenApp.
    • Sharepoint (2007,2013)
    • SCCM (2007, 2012)
