Audit Manager – Information Technology

About The Role

We are looking for an internal audit practitioner with strong information technology knowledge and experience, supported with proficiency in leading and delivering independent assurance work, including end-to-end reviews, related to an organisation’s Information Technology function. The role will include a direct reporting line to an Audit Senior Manager.

You will provide support to the Internal Audit team in support of their assessments of the Society’s information technology strategy and operational activities, as well as being a key internal audit resource for executing independent reviews of the efficiency and effectiveness of risk management and controls associated with the Society’s Information Technology function.

As directed, you will work with the Senior Audit Manager – Information Technology & Information Security on engagements to ensure audits are undertaken in accordance with requirements and address key information technology risk areas.

You will have the opportunity to interface with the Society’s Chief Information Officer and Senior IT Leadership team, and to interact with senior stakeholders across the technology area. You will play a key role in collaborating and educating these stakeholders to ensure that risks are effectively managed and a robust control environment is maintained across the Society’s information technology activities.

This critical role will require the identification and reporting of areas of deficiency in support of delivery of the internal audit plan and a requirement to make impactful recommendations to improve the Society’s internal risk management and control environment.

About You

Working with the Audit Senior Manager, you'll be able to contribute to the overall information technology risk assessment process, including the identification of key risk areas for inclusion in audit engagements.

Requirements:
  • Qualification associated with information technology and/or information security (CISA/CRISC/ISO 27001 or similar)
  • Internal / external audit experience or information technology or information security department experience including experience of involvement in delivering assurance reviews to time and quality
  • Experience in working with other Internal Audit staff
  • Broad experience of preparing high quality audit reports and papers for senior management review
  • Appreciation of financial services regulation and expectations
  • Access to and a desire for maintaining an understanding of internal audit professional advancements and a keenness to learn about external thinking regarding internal audit approaches.
