Senior Mortgage Manager

About The Role

We have won many awards in 2018 ranging from Highest Customer Satisfaction (YouGov) to Moneyfacts Best Building Society Mortgage Provider and our Direct Mortgages area is paramount in delivering on this.

We are looking for a people focused Senior Mortgage Manager to join our growing Direct Mortgages area, to lead our teams on our continued customer service journey.

In this exciting and challenging role you will be directly responsible for up to 6 managers, whilst leading and inspiring an overall diverse team of c 80 staff.

As a senior manager you will have a broad and varied range of responsibilities. You will deliver an exceptional customer experience through the effective leadership and development of your team of managers. You will support the senior leadership team in identifying and developing changes to drive colleague engagement, process improvement and efficiencies, with the objective of enhancing experience for both colleagues and members, whilst meeting the demands of the business.

You will have responsibility for the operational management of the department, ensuring exceptional customer service, delivery against KPIs and you will analyse management information to enable effective decision making. You will ensure adherence and continuous learning in regards to legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practice. Whilst we have a clear passion to deliver quality, achieve goals and grow within the market, this role is not sales based and there are no individual or team sales targets.

About You

The successful candidate will have recent strong, operational leadership experience, with evidence of managing and developing managers, and a high performing, customer focused team.

You will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and be able to identify where your experience has made a difference, through engagement of people and continuous improvement processes. 

You will also be required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and represent the Direct Mortgages channel, therefore excellent communication skills are essential. Mortgage experience from a similar environment will be essential, as will evidence of working within a risks and controls environment.

CeMAP is desirable however not essential.
