Regulatory Conduct Officer

About The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Regulatory Conduct Officer within our Distribution Planning and Quality Team located at our Binley Campus.

As a Regulatory Conduct Officer you will represent a key partner to Direct Mortgages, delivering first line assurance to all regulated mortgage advice that embraces our culture, supports our people, provides guidance, oversight and challenge to achieve good customer outcomes and drive continuous improvement.

As part of this role you will be required to:

 

  • Provide guidance and feedback by reviewing mortgage advice call observations, fact find documentation and suitability letters ensuring regulatory and compliance requirements are continually achieved and fair customer outcomes prevail
  • Take ownership in preparing, analysing and maintaining required MI and present meaningful content at Senior Manger level
  • Complete project work/thematic work to provide assurance and identify process improvements
  • Understand and adhere to specific regulatory rules and best practice requirements, as well as a good understanding of the Society’s mortgage policies and procedures
  • Adhere and enforce standards within our T & C framework
  • Ability to adhere to tight timescales, adopt a flexible working attitude and be able to work using own initiative
About You

As a Regulatory Conduct Officer we would be looking for you to bring to the team the following essential attributes:

  • Experience working within a Regulated Mortgage environment
  • Experience working within the standards of a T & C framework
  • Knowledge of the Societies Mortgage polices/procedures
  • Clear and confident communication skills both written and verbal, with peers and key stakeholders at Senior Manager level
  • Attention to detail with an analytical mind/nature to identify trends and maintain effective MI
  • A team player with demonstrable evidence of leadership and influencing skills
  • Sound understanding of current UK financial services regulatory requirements concerning the provision of responsible lending, complaints and transitional arrangements 

Hours: 35 Monday to Friday (flexible working covering these hours can be considered)
