Financial Crime Analyst

About The Role

Within Payments & Financial Crime (P&FC) we are setting up a brand new Analytics and MI function.  As part of this we are looking to recruit a Financial Crime Analyst to focus on the Analytics work.

The major part of the role will involve detailed data modelling that will help to set up fraud rules and feeding these into the systems and reports used by P&FC.  Therefore it is  critical that candidates have experience in setting complex queries on databases and enjoy working with numbers!

These rules are critical to enabling  the Investigators in our Operations team to focus on the most likely fraud cases and this up front analysis will be a critical part of CBS combating fraud.   The role will also require on-going monitoring of internal and industry financial crime trends.

The role may also involve; the production of MI, the investigation of internal fraud and whistleblowing cases, representing P&FC on projects.

About You

To be successful in this role you will

  • have substantial experience of working in a financial crime area, ideally in financial services
  • have experience of producing high quality MI using advanced Excel skills and the ability to code queries on databases
  • be able to interpret data into meaningful results
  • be able to communicate results to the P&FC Operations team, and wider Society stakeholders, so they understand how their processes are impacted

Ideal candidates will also

  • have experience of coding new rules into fraud engines and MI reports
  • formal employee interview training and/or experience
